Welcome to Pennsylvania!

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was created in 1681 when King Charles II granted a royal charter to the colony’s founder, William Penn, an Englishman. Today this diverse destination remains ideal for travelers in search of everything from thrilling theme parks and lush golf resorts to challenging ski terrain and rushing white water rafting adventures. And then there’s the History, Culture, Heritage and Shopping!!

Take the wheel along scenic Route 30 to experience Gettysburg, with its rich Civil War history, Lancaster County with its Amish communities, and the Laurel Highlands that is home to two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpieces “Fallingwater” and “Kentuck Knob”.

Head north from Pittsburgh to experience a blend of natural beauty and recreation in Erie. Erie is home to the U.S. Brig Niagara at the Erie Maritime Museum which brings the Battle of 1812 to life. Or spend the day walking the trail around Presque Isle State Park and try to identify the 428 species of birds that make their home here.

Then set out on Route 6 across the northern tier of the state to retrace the historic trails that pioneers traveled in their discovery of the West.

Philadelphia is the east coast gateway, conveniently located between New York and Washington and home to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the new Constitution Center. It has an established reputation as a gourmet city. Pittsburgh, the western gateway, is fast becoming a trendy place to visit with its three rivers, a world-class symphony and the famous Andy Warhol Museum.

Bargains galore can be found for shopaholics (no sales tax on clothing!) The King of Prussia Mall, located outside Philadelphia, is the largest on the East Coast.
